WINGED FEET LIMITED is a small documentation consultancy run by Andy W. Smith, based in Colchester, England. We specialise in high quality, bespoke documentation and marketing collaterals for engineering and commercial clients. Services range from writing full service manuals and user guides, to production of individual technical illustrations and graphics or simple content writing jobs.

Service Manuals or User Guides

Service Manuals or User Guides can be modified from your existing documentation or developed from a blank page. Service manuals can include sections for Diagnostics (with the support of your engineering team), Parts Lists or Spares, Repairs and Adjustments, or other procedures depending on your requirements of those of your customers. User guides will be structured according to your products and tailored to the background of your users.

Technical Illustrations

Technical Illustrations can be taken from your CAD (.step, .jt or an application of your choice), drawn from photographs, or actual photographs can be published with annotations.

Graphics

Graphics covers anything that can be represented in visual form. While technical illustrations will usually be developed from your data, typically CAD or photos, graphics are drawn from scratch. This can include, diagrams that might describe processes or installations, schematics, maps, or graphic design for any purpose.

Other Drawings

Something more creative – Does your photo of your office look a bit generic? Would you like to represent yourselves more creatively? How about some nice line drawings? Even the most generic mid twentieth-century industrial or office building can be made to look fresh and clean with a nice line drawing. If there’s a background feature you would like removed, or a neighbouring office always has a skip spoiling the view, these can be selectively removed by drawing a crisp new image. Why not add a tree or two to make your surroundings look more appealing.

Andy Smith started his career back in the last century writing advertising features for local newspapers. Since then the bulk of his career has been in technical writing. However, he’s written copy for such clients as the DHL company magazine (Europe and Africa region), Honda and numerous small copywriting jobs in between his main role as a technical author.
